MUMBAI, India – Crossword Book Awards finalist Prashant Pinge will debut his young adult fantasy novel Sceadu on Nov 10, 2014. The book, to be released globally on Amazon Kindle, chronicles the journey of four children after they are transported into their shadows by a verse from a century old book. The author describes Sceadu as a fast paced adventure which blurs the boundary between the physical and the psychological, the real and the mythical.
“Sceadu gives centre stage to the human shadow,” says Prashant. “It is what makes this fantasy different. That and the amalgamation of psychology and mythology into the narrative which creates a distinctly unique experience for the reader.” The adventure starts off as a battle for survival for the protagonists but soon transforms into a race to save their own kind from an apocalyptic plague prophesized eons ago.
Sceadu is already garnering rave reviews. According to Himajali Sankar, Editor at Bloomsbury India, “Prashant Pinge masterfully reels in psychology and mythology to create and validate a shadow land replete with faeries, imps and other fantastical creatures but often in ways that are unusual and not conventional.” She finishes her review with, “…well crafted and executed, this is a book that is worthy of belonging to the time-honoured fantasy genre.”
“Give this book a read,” says Prashant. “You will never take your shadow for granted again.”
